Welcome to the Dog Park of Rarity Bay.

In just months ahead, we will be able to take our dogs to a park which until only recently has been a dream. Construction is currently ongoing. Much hard work was put in by the 2008 steering committee (Marlene Eeg, Chair, Jack Wright, Paul Serbu, Nancie Guido, Pam Murray and Cheryl Heinecke) to agree to a lease for the land from Rarity Bay Community Assn. This past year our fundraising team, Nancie Guido, Kathy Ecklund, Sue Seitz, and Sandy Knoedler along with many other volunteers, raised the needed amount to start construction of the park. I would personally like to thank each of them and all the members of our community who contributed to this successful effort.

Currently, Jack Wright heads up the construction. Disking and soil preparation has been done. Irrigation will be started in late April, with hydroseeding planned for early May and fencing to follow.
Focus on getting the park up and running has taken a huge chunk of time and some of our earlier programs started through the social and educational venue I Dig Rarity Bay, have been put on temporary hold so that we can devote all of our energy and time to building the park. When the park is up and running, we will find the best fit for I Dig in our organization.

Continued support for the park will still be needed. On the Events link are the two community fundraisers: our second annual Memorial Day picnic and then in the Fall, the Shaggy Chic Super Sale. We certainly appreciate the community support in the past and in this year as well. Consider purchasing a Memorial Brick for the pathway into the park - a great way to commemorate a person, pet, or perhaps a winning year for your favoriate sports team. Use our easy online form.

Be sure to attend our first Dog Park meeting on May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the CAC, in which we will be addressing many of the questions that dog owners may have about the park. Come and meet other dog owners over a glass of wine and cheese.

As the park draws closer to completion, we will be updating this page with information that will be of interest to the community at large. Please come back as we develop our park.
